Wow! What a crazy couple of weeks, almost glad it's over. Almost. My awesome husband came home today with two (yes, two!) cards for me, some cute little things he got me at Charlotte Russe, and a HUGE box of Godiva Chocolates...yaay me! Yum!  I hope your sweetie got you something just as fun and delicious :)

I have been extremely fortunate lately to have made some great connections and do some fun things that have opened up doors to new clients and friends. I wanted to share some of this and hope you like what you see.
The owner of Elements of Style Salon and Spa in Eldersburg, Paris Cimino, reached out to me several weeks ago to participate in a Valentine's Day event for their clients and we also ended up having salon staff enjoy this too! I had a total of 14 amazing women allow me to capture their images and although it was a long day, it was quite a bit of fun. I have to say that many of these woman told me they had wanted to do boudoir pics FOREVER and hadn't really gotten serious about jumping in until they saw the event on Facebook or got an email. These mini-sessions are a great way to test the waters and I have to say, without exception, each woman said they were thrilled they tried it and didn't want it to end...

A close second best to shooting these sessions had to be the day I dropped their prints off to them at the salon...we were all like a swarm of giggly school girls, they wanted to see each other's images, and there was a lot of "ooohing" going on, LOL...the look on each face was almost indescribable and priceless when they saw the end result of their session. Makes it the reason I love what I do! Thanks to the ladies who allowed me to showcase their beautiful faces here!

This has been a crazy busy month - Valentine's Day usually is for boudoir photography! My sessions sold out almost immediately...20 sessions and 20 happy girls and hopefully, 20 very happy guys on the 14th! So I had a little time on my hands last Saturday and wanted to get out and do something nice for myself, something girly, and something to get rid of the winter blahs which have set in (and always do this time of year).

I remembered driving down East Street in downtown Frederick recently and seeing an adorable sign with a lipstick kiss on it and thought, "PERFECT!"...just what I needed! Then I remembered I had seen one of their business cards in A Pole New You Exotic Fitness in Urbana. Oh yes, this was definitely what I needed.

I don't even know how to describe this adorable little shop as anything other than 

the most perfect glam diva over-the-top makeup heaven...seriously. I'm in love. Really.

Their expertise is custom blend makeup and color matching. They only use environmentally and face-friendly products, you get to run amuck through amazing colors and textures, and THE BEST THING OF ALL: they will custom blend a lipstick for you and you can watch the whole process!!! And you get to name it!!! And flavor it!!! Is that too any exclamation points in a row? Anyway...Okay, anyone else might think this is a little kooky to be so excited, but this was actually incredibly cool...AND I got to apply my lipstick, kiss a little smooch card, and post it on their lipstick "wall of fame" with my name and my newly named lipstick proudly displayed for all the girly world to see! I'm a dork. BUT, I am now a dork with an amazing lip color named "Dirty Daisy". And it tastes like peaches :)

Along the lines of my Boudoir Pin-Up Parties, Smooch Studio also offers fabulous makeup parties! I can seriously see myself doing this and SOON. How fun would that be...make-up girl-party and hit lovely downtown Frederick for some great food and friendly faces!

All of the girls were extremely helpful, you get a custom consult, a tear sheet with your color choices, and a crazy beautiful little bag to tote your newly prized possessions home in. Can you say zebra and pink?!
